Repeat Prescriptions

PATIENTS PRESCRIPTION ORDERING PROCEDURE

HELP US TO HELP YOU BY FOLLOWING THIS GUIDE:

  1. All patients must request repeat prescriptions allowing at least 2 working days at the surgery (Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays are not working days) and you also need to allow enough time for the pharmacy to prepare the medications (2-3 days) in advance of when the prescription is needed.

  2. All patients are asked to use the ‘tick slip’ to re-order all repeat medication. Only the required items should be ticked. If no boxes are ticked the prescription will not be issued until the patient confirms which items are required.

  3. If the patient does not have their ‘tick slip’ with them when requesting medication, the receptionist will print one out so that the patient can tick which items are required or the patient can write their name, address and date of birth with a list of medication required on a piece of A4 paper or similar.

  4. Patient Access allows prescriptions to be requested electronically online or through an App. ID is required to be signed up for this service, ask at reception for a leaflet or more information.

Alternatively you can visit www.nhs.uk/GPonlineservices for more information.

THE ABOVE PROCEDURES HAVE BEEN PUT IN PLACE IN ACCORDANCEE WITH THE MEDICINE MANAGEMENT COLLABORATIVE SAFETY IN MEDICINE GUIDELINES.
